Before you
buy please consider the following
1. Know your
limits (faster is not always better)
2. Almost everyone crashes or drops their first bike once
or twice
Ready to
start looking?
1. We suggest that you look for a motorcycle no more than
10 years old
2. Buy a motorcycle that you feel comfortable on (your
feet must touch the ground when you are sitting and you
cannot have any problems reaching the handle bars)
What to look for when looking at a bike
1. See how the motorcycle starts when it's cold, most
motors can start very easy when they are warm. (you can
tell if the bike is cold by putting your hand near the
engine to feel for heat)
2. While
the engine is running listen for any strange sounds. (ticking
and banging are always bad signs)
When your
ready to buy
1. Take the
motorcycle to a mechanic. (only cost $35-40 cdn and is
well worth it)
How to
reduce the price
1. Look for scratches and cosmetic defects then point
them out
Should
something be on this list that isn't? Please let
us know!
